If you are 70 and a half, donating directly from your IRA offers potential advantages. A Qualified Charitable Deduction (QCD) to North Side Community School counts toward your required minimum distribution and is not considered taxable income. You can give up to $100,000 from your IRA without having to pay income tax on the contribution.
